About the role

We are seeking experienced legal professionals to evaluate frontier AI models on realistic legal work, including research memos, contract review and drafting, litigation materials, compliance analyses, due diligence, and regulatory responses. The role is fully remote and project-based, requiring strong legal judgment, primary-source analysis, detailed written reasoning, familiarity with AI and LLM tools, and at least two years of legal experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design challenging, realistic legal tasks based on day-to-day professional workflows, including research memos, contract redlines, motion and brief sections, compliance analyses, due diligence summaries, discovery plans, and regulatory responses.
  • Author complete task scenarios, colleague-style prompts, supporting agreements, pleadings, correspondence, policies, fact summaries, and exhibits.
  • Run legal tasks through frontier AI models and evaluate the resulting memos, redlines, brief sections, and analyses against professional standards.
  • Compare outputs from two AI models using identical prompts and files, determine which performed better, and document the reasons for the assessment.
  • Develop detailed grading rubrics that define the issues, authorities, provisions, conclusions, and recipient-appropriate register required for a correct deliverable.
  • Identify and evidence model failures, including fabricated or misread authorities, incorrect legal standards, missed issues, ignored provisions, unsupported conclusions, and off-brief interpretations.
  • Contribute expertise across litigation, transactional, compliance and regulatory, and intellectual property work, including reviewing and refining tasks created by other experts.
  • Apply professional judgment to verify document claims against underlying numbers, sources, facts, contracts, statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Interpret written feedback, determine which feedback is correct, revise work accordingly, and independently research answers when requirements or source materials are incomplete.
  • Propose, build, revise, and complete accepted tasks through the platform’s staged review process, incorporating expert feedback at each gate.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of hands-on legal experience is preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered where the practical work is substantive and demonstrable.
  • Depth in at least one legal practice area, including litigation; corporate and transactional law; compliance and regulatory work; intellectual property; employment law; real estate law; tax law; or legal operations with sustained drafting responsibility.
  • Working understanding of several additional legal practice areas and their workflows.
  • Ability to ground conclusions in primary sources, including statutes, regulations, case law, and the contract under review.
  • Ability to distinguish reliable legal authorities from plausible but fabricated authorities.
  • In-progress Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Ability to create realistic scenarios from professional experience and evaluate whether AI systems can perform the underlying legal work.
  • Hands-on practitioner experience at an individual-contributor level, rather than experience limited solely to management.
  • Full professional or native-level written and spoken English, with strong written communication and professional reasoning.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, close attention to detail, and the ability to build an accurate working picture from unfamiliar files.
  • Ability to ramp quickly on unfamiliar work using written materials and instructions, including incomplete materials.
  • General familiarity with AI and LLM tools, including professional use of models such as Claude or ChatGPT.
  • Baseline technology literacy, including cloud file tools, browser profiles, desktop app installation, and everyday file handling.
  • Availability for at least 10 hours per week, with no weekly maximum.
  • Based in the United States, Canada, or the UK.
  • All assessment submissions must be the candidate’s own work; submissions produced with AI tools are rejected.
