About the role

The Senior Project Manager, Roofing Systems, will lead strategic capital projects across roofing system plant locations, overseeing equipment and work specifications, engineering design reviews, project controls, procurement, contractors, budgets, schedules, and forecasts. This role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, at least 5 years of engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, strong project management capabilities for projects up to $20 million, proficiency with MS Project or Primavera, and willingness to travel more than 50%.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic capital projects from initial estimating and stage gate activities through funding, equipment ordering, construction, and completion.
  • Own project execution for initiatives ranging from smaller assignments to projects valued up to $20 million, maintaining alignment with approved scope, budget, schedule, safety, quality, and functionality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain equipment and work specifications, project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and project controls.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams composed of plant personnel, discipline engineers, procurement representatives, and external engineering contractors.
  • Guide engineering and design activities, ensuring technical and commercial reviews address scope, safety, quality, and functionality.
  • Select materials, equipment, project resources, vendors, and contractors in support of project requirements.
  • Manage vendor and contractor engagement, including contractor leadership on site and coordination of external engineering resources.
  • Report project options, progress, risks, and decisions to the project steering team, supporting governance at each phase of the project.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communication across plant operations, engineering, procurement, contractors, and project leadership.
  • Maintain project compliance and contribute to continuous improvement and ongoing project support activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, specifically Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with projects up to $20 million.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software, including MS Project or Primavera.
  • Experience developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ability to support equipment and work specifications, materials and equipment selection, project resource selection, and technical and commercial design reviews.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate procurement, plant personnel, discipline engineers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50%; heavy travel is required.
  • Ability to work on site at or near a roofing system plant location.
