About the role

Ardent Health is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) in Albuquerque, NM to provide nursing leadership within a cardiovascular intensive care environment. The role requires a Bachelor’s in nursing or active enrollment in an accredited BSN program, a current RN license, BLS certification within 14 days of hire, and three years of CVICU experience, including substantial management experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing leadership and management within the CVICU environment.
  • Apply extensive CVICU nursing knowledge to support safe and effective patient care.
  • Provide bedside nursing coverage when needed to support staffing requirements.
  • Support clinical care involving ECMO, LVAD, Open Heart procedures, Impella, and Balloon Pumps.
  • Use a strong cardiac background to guide clinical decision-making in the CVICU.
  • Manage staffing coverage needs while maintaining appropriate bedside support.
  • Maintain compliance with current RN licensing requirements and applicable State Board of Nursing standards.
  • Maintain required BLS certification and fulfill applicable BSN education requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required.
  • If the applicant does not have a BSN, enrollment in an accredited BSN program with a scheduled completion date is required.
  • Current RN license or a current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
  • Three years of CVICU experience, including three or two years in a management capacity.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
  • Recent experience in CVICU.
  • Proficiency in CVICU nursing.
  • Ability to work at the bedside when needed for staffing coverage.
  • Experience with ECMO, LVAD, Open Heart, Impella, and Balloon Pumps.
  • Extensive cardiac background; experience limited to a purely medical ICU without cardiac exposure does not meet the stated requirements.
