L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Electrical Engineer in Carlsbad, California, to lead electronics design and analysis for digital, power, analog, and mixed signal systems. The role includes cradle-to-grave development ownership, mixed signal low-voltage current driver board design, microcontroller-based board development, embedded C programming and debugging, circuit integration and testing, and collaboration across an integrated product team. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, have 6 years of prior relevant experience, and be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electronics design and analysis for digital, power, analog, and mixed signal systems.
- Create schematics, functional diagrams, block diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams to support product development.
- Own assigned development activities from cradle to grave, coordinating work across development stages.
- Design, build, and test mixed signal low-voltage current driver boards.
- Design circuit boards using microcontrollers and develop associated microcontroller programming and debugging activities in embedded C.
- Design stepper motor control circuits and support their integration into product designs.
- Create design review packages and present circuit designs during peer reviews.
- Support proposal efforts and early program stages by helping define detailed system requirements.
- Apply knowledge of digital electronics technology, parts availability, and design architecture to inform circuit development.
- Perform integration and test of circuit designs while collaborating with Optical, Mechanical, Software, Firmware, and Electrical Engineers and Technicians within an integrated product team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- 4+ years of experience in digital electronics technology, parts availability, and design architecture.
- 4+ years of design experience with integration and test of circuit designs.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
- Knowledge of electronic design and simulation tools, including Altium, Xpedition, Cadence ConceptHDL, OrCAD, PADS Layout, Spice, and Mentor Graphics tools.
- Experience with electronics design, electrical design and analysis tools, schematic capture, functional and block diagram generation, electrical wiring diagrams, and digital, power, analog, and mixed signal designs.
- Experience designing boards using microcontrollers.
- Experience with microcontroller programming and debugging in embedded C.
- Experience with stepper motor control circuit design.
Benefits and Perks
- Work schedule of 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours.
- Every other Friday off.
- Base salary range of $160,000 – $190,000.
