About the role

The IPT Lead Engineer will lead the Integrated Product Team responsible for the technical oversight, design, development, integration, qualification, and production transition of thrust vector control actuation systems supporting advanced Space Force strategic defense programs. This on-site Buffalo, New York role requires a bachelor's degree, U.S. Secret Clearance, at least 7 years of actuator and controller design experience, and at least 3 years leading technical teams, with 30–50% travel expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Integrated Product Team responsible for the technical oversight, design, development, integration, and test of TVC actuation systems.
  • Provide senior technical direction for design maturation and the transition of hardware into production.
  • Lead and participate in technical trade studies that balance mechanical, physical, environmental, payload, power, propulsion, thermal, communications, and attitude-control requirements.
  • Own and maintain technical development plans, schedules, and execution inputs across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Support major program design, integration, qualification, and readiness reviews.
  • Prepare for and present technical content in customer design reviews and customer program reviews.
  • Drive full engineering lifecycle integration, test, and production activities for advanced defense systems.
  • Apply risk management practices and Earned Value Management (EVM) to support disciplined program execution.
  • Develop and maintain engineering schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Lead and coordinate technical teams while applying Agile development processes to program execution.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Secret Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in actuator and controller design.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Demonstrated full engineering lifecycle integration, test, and production experience.
  • Experience preparing for and presenting customer design and program reviews.
  • Experience with risk management and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience developing schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.
  • Ability to work fully on-site in Buffalo, New York and travel 30–50% as required.
