About the role
The Sr. Gas Turbine Design Engineer will lead complex gas turbine design and development initiatives, providing technical direction across cross-functional teams and supporting design acceptance, manufacturing producibility, validation, and operational issue resolution. The role requires a degree and approximately 5–6 years of experience, including gas turbine design, technical or project leadership, and ownership of design or product projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams by providing technical expertise, direction, and engineering support for complex gas turbine components, systems, and products.
- Lead new designs and coordinate the resolution of manufacturing or operational issues affecting complex components and systems.
- Own design acceptance, manufacturing producibility, and validation activities for assigned designs and products.
- Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain enterprise technology roadmaps that support long-term engineering and product objectives.
- Drive process improvements focused on efficiency, cost reduction, quality improvement, and product performance.
- Define and implement engineering procedures that make products and processes more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.
- Translate functional requirements into detailed design documents that support execution, review, and product solutions.
- Lead collaboration across the enterprise and with external stakeholders to provide product solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to teams and management while supporting best practices and standard work for engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree required.
- Approximately 5–6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with gas turbine design.
- Experience serving as a design lead, technical lead, or project lead.
- Experience owning a design or product project.
- Ability to provide technical expertise, direction, and engineering support for complex designs and systems.
- Experience with design acceptance, manufacturing producibility, validation, and operational issue resolution.
- Experience translating functional requirements into detailed design documents.
