About the role
The Food Processing Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource for sanitary process equipment projects supporting food and beverage and industrial manufacturing customers. The role leads equipment reviews, selection and sizing, vendor quote evaluation, pricing quotations, and technical support for the Outside Sales Team, requiring a bachelor's degree in engineering and 10+ years of process engineering experience with sanitary pumps, valves, process design, and fluid systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical resource for customers and internal teams throughout sanitary process equipment project lifecycles.
- Lead technical reviews and present clear equipment recommendations aligned with customer process requirements.
- Communicate process concepts clearly to customers, plant managers, engineers, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Advise customers on equipment functionality and operation within food and beverage and industrial manufacturing processes.
- Support equipment selection and sizing based on process goals, sanitary standards, and long-term reliability requirements.
- Review client specifications, P&IDs, and drawings to understand process requirements and constraints.
- Recommend appropriate equipment sizes, pump types, and equipment configurations.
- Collaborate with plant managers, engineers, and project teams to identify efficient, cost-effective equipment solutions.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure alignment with client needs.
- Generate pricing quotations for equipment supplied by key vendors and in-house value-add capabilities, while providing quotation support to the Outside Sales Team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 10+ years of process engineering experience in sanitary process applications involving pumps and valves.
- Strong knowledge of process design, sanitary equipment, and fluid systems.
- Experience reviewing client specifications, P&IDs, and drawings to determine process requirements and equipment constraints.
- Experience selecting and sizing sanitary process equipment, including pumps and valves.
- Experience preparing and evaluating vendor quotes and generating pricing quotations.
