Henkel Corporation is seeking a Laboratory Adhesive Packaging Engineer to develop and optimize coatings for flexible packaging and film-based applications in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in coatings, flexible packaging, or film manufacturing, with hands-on expertise in coating, laminating, converting, or film extrusion, as well as cross-functional project execution and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical solutions and innovation in flexible packaging coatings for film-based applications and new business opportunities.
- Lead laboratory-based development activities, including experiment design, testing, formulation development, and process improvement.
- Collaborate with Business Development, R&D, Sales, and customers to advance projects from concept through commercialization.
- Apply expertise in coating, laminating, converting, and film extrusion to troubleshoot customer applications.
- Optimize customer applications and support the continuous improvement of formulations and processes.
- Manage project execution, including timelines, milestone delivery, and coordination with suppliers.
- Support customer trials and business development activities across North America.
- Translate laboratory findings and technical requirements into practical solutions for flexible packaging applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of experience in coatings, flexible packaging, or film manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with coating, laminating, converting, or film extrusion.
- Experience with experiment design, testing, formulation development, and process improvement.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize customer applications.
- Experience managing project execution, timelines, supplier coordination, and milestone delivery.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% across North America to support customer trials and business development activities.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with Business Development, R&D, Sales, suppliers, and customers.
