About the role
The Refinery Superintendent will oversee the safety, food quality, operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and financial performance of the Newark Refinery in Newark, California. This role leads single-plant operations, establishes operational priorities, drives efficiency improvements, manages production and quality deliverables, and directs capital and operating budgets. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and at least four years of related work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure employee safety, food safety, and environmental compliance programs are implemented throughout the Newark Refinery.
- Maintain accountability for internal and external operating procedures and regulatory procedures.
- Execute strategic and tactical priorities in alignment with corporate EH&S, food safety, quality, regulatory functions, and government regulations.
- Lead production and quality management deliverables to ensure customer, product, and quality standard requirements are met within specifications.
- Establish and deploy operational priorities for the Newark Refinery plant.
- Oversee the overall operational management of a single plant and drive operational efficiency improvements.
- Support standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence, maintenance, and operator best practices.
- Lead, direct, and control capital and operating budgets for the plant to achieve medium-term financial performance objectives established by the business.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of related work experience.
- Experience or demonstrated capability in plant operational management, safety, food quality, regulatory procedures, production, quality management, and financial performance responsibilities as described for the role.
